Day 2 - Osaka to Kyoto

After an exhilarating night flight from Singapore, we’ve arrived at the lively Kansai International Airport in Japan! 🎉

Start your adventure at Nara Park, where friendly, free-roaming deer eagerly await your attention. Grab some deer crackers and watch these adorable creatures melt your heart with their big, innocent eyes! 🦌💕

Next, satisfy your hunger at Nishiki Market, also known as "Kyoto's Kitchen." Explore a vibrant mix of fresh produce and local treats—the perfect spot to refuel and snag some unique souvenirs like pickles, tea, and sake!

Then, immerse yourself in the mystical beauty of Fushimi Inari Taisha as you walk through the enchanting Inuimoto Torii Corridor, a magical experience that feels like stepping into another world. 🌸🛤️

Then, stroll though Gion, Kyoto’s iconic geisha district, where traditional arts come alive. Admire the elegance of geiko and maiko with respect.

Looking for Instagram-worthy spots? 📸✨ Join the optional excursion with the 1835 crew! Start at Yanagoku Kannon (Yangokji Temple) to experience the spiritual "Ducobalt Water," believed to heal eye ailments. 👁️🙏

 

Then, visit Arashiyama's top attractions: the scenic Togetsukyo Bridge 🌉, the vibrant Kimono Forest 🎨, and the peaceful Bamboo Forest Trail. 🎋🌳

Then, it’s off to Kansai International Airport for your flight back to Singapore! ✈️

Day 9 - Arrive Singapore

Since our flight from Osaka on Day 8 is at evening, we’ll arrive in Singapore after midnight on Day 9!

  • Credit cards are widely accepted in Japan, but in smaller towns, local shops and traditional businesses still prefer cash, so it's wise to carry some.

  • Seafood is a cornerstone of Japanese cuisine and features prominently in many dishes. If you’re selective about your food, be aware that some meals will include seafood.

  • For vegetarians, vegans, and those with gluten sensitivities: Japanese cuisine often includes ingredients like beef broths that aren’t considered vegetarian by Western standards. It can be challenging to find meals that fit strict dietary restrictions, as many dishes may contain grains or fish. Your guide can help clarify what you’re ordering, but we recommend doing some research on suitable foods beforehand. We cannot guarantee that all included group meals will meet specific dietary needs.

  • When visiting Kyoto, remember it's home to many locals. Please be considerate, mind your manners, and help preserve the city's culture for sustainable tourism.

  • Please show respect to Maiko and Geisha by admiring from a distance, avoiding intrusive behavior, and refraining from asking for photos unless invited.

  • Please note that street smoking is strictly prohibited in and penalties apply for smoking outside designated areas in the city center.
